The founding sisters, Alfa Lloyd, Anne Simmons, Anna Keen, Mary Collins, Mabelle
Minton, and Julia Bishop, were strong in their desire to begin a sisterhood where
others could gather and enjoy common interests.
The founders showed disbelievers their true devotion to Delta Zeta by always
putting their best faces forward, never giving up, and never retaliating. These
wonderful traits, which only begin to scratch the surface of what being a Delta
Zeta means, are what led others to respect the sisters and everything they stood
for. The sorority grew and has continued to do so as wonderful women who share
the same beliefs as the founders join Delta Zeta and proudly call themselves sisters. - Laura Beard, Historian

The Delta Zeta Creed
To the world,
I promise temperance and insight and courage,
To crusade for justice,
To seek the truth and defend it always:
To those whom my life may touch in slight measure,
May I give graciously
Of what is mine;
To my friends,
Understanding and appreciation;
To those closer ones,
Love that is ever steadfast;
To my mind,
Growth;
To myself,
Faith
That I may walk truly
In the light of the Flame.
